College Photography
During my time at Purdue Northwest, I took multiple courses involving graphic design and photography.
I wanted to go over a particular set of photographs and the planning that went into them.
For each of these photographs, I had a week to capture, edit, and upload for review for a ten image set.
Nature Photograph:
The assignment for this photo required me to make a set of images to a certain theme.
I picked the location, had to set a date, and be out there by golden hour on a clear day to take this image. The focal point of this image was intended to be that dead tree.
The editing in this photo involved mainly getting the artifacting caused by a fish-eye camera lens attachment. The vignetting is also a result of that lens attachment, but the photo was edited to relieve that issue.
Abstract Photograph - Construction Equipment:
I took this around the twilight hours of the day and took the photograph of the construction equipment at just the right position with the clouds. This image’s contrast was heavily modified, among other aspects to create that shadow-like appearance.
Abstract Photograph - Pool Table
I was inspired to create an image based on what I remembered oil paintings to be when I took this photograph. I set up the billiard balls to lead the viewer’s eyes up and down the vertical photograph. I adjusted the lighting and colors in post-production to create the oil-like aesthetic to the photograph.
Landscape - Prairie Tracks
When taking this photograph, I had to analyze where the viewer’s eye would gravitate. There were two main points of immediate interest: the powerline pole and the railroad tracks. I snapped my adjusted the aperture in accordance to those subjects.
Stairway from another angle
The intent behind this photograph was to show ascent.
Church Candles
I took this photo with a fish eye lens with the intent of exaggerating the size from the front of the row to the back of the row. This was taken primarily as a test of the lens attachment.
Glass Lighting Test
The purpose of this photograph was to test lighting with multiple transparencies of glass. There are multiple versions of this one photograph, I wanted to show that I had done such a test.
Portrait example photograph
The purpose of this photograph was to take a photograph of a person in their daily routine without needing to get them to stop. The model for this photograph is Grace Rada.
